T-Rex Robot

Behold the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex, master of the Cretaceous period! The mighty and terrible lizard king! The mighty reptile terror of the- the . . .  Hey, what the heck is that inside the T-Rex? Is that a . . .
A chicken on an exercise bike? Wait a second! That's not a real dinosaur! That's a pneumatic powered, chicken driven T-Rex Robot! I don't know if that little bird's got a Napoleon complex or if he just wanted to get back to his roots, but he's somehow managed to get his claws on a pretty sweet ride. And you know what? Piloted by poultry this may be, you'd still better be ready to get out of the way if you spot that tell tale ripple in your glass of water.

Available on t-shirts from Cafepress, Zazzle, Spreadshirt, and Printfection.

Bored Robot

He's a robot and he's bored. Or maybe he's lazy. Or just taking some time to daydream a little. Either way I'm sure you've had days that match his mood. This is one of my favorite emotional robots. He's on my desk watching TV right now. Printed him out on Shapeways and painted him.

Originally designed for t-shirts and for sale on Cafepress, Zazzle, Printfection, and Spreadshirt.
I've also got a vector version on Spreadshirt but because those are limited to three colors the test pattern on his little TV face is blank.

I've been told that it's only a matter of time before nobody will even recognize the test pattern, but it's on an old ctr TV set complete with rabbit ear antennae. There's very little here that isn't incredibly out of date.

Robo Hope

I've said it before (Barely a week ago, in fact), but I look forward to the inevitable arrival of our robot overlords! Put this up on your wall and maybe you'll be one of the lucky few to survive the Great Culling. This parody of Obama's Hope poster is perfect for those of you who'd rather keep real politicians out of your politics. The text below is binary for "hope" according to a binary to text translator I found online. Available as posters and T-shirts on Cafepress and Zazzle.

To create the design I modeled and rigged the entire robot with Maya and ran some filters on the rendered image with Photoshop to get the appropriately patriotic effect. I named him Kupfer Oben because it means Copper Top in German (once again according to an online translator) and I'd textured the top of his head to look like copper, plus I found images of warning labels in German which I'd used while texturing him. I've included a video showing him in his entirety below.

Robot Rights

I don't know about you, but I welcome our robot overlords. That's why I say, "Support robot rights while you still have the option!!" Make friends with your future mechanical masters now. You may not have the chance later.

You know, looking back at this design, I just realized something about it. I'm so very glad that the bot still practicing in a peaceful protest is the one with the longer reach and the ability to climb stairs. If this happened in real life you could just run upstairs and hope he can't reach the elevator call button. The other (and I think far superior one) is to get this design on a shirt and wear it at all times, so they know whose side you're on.

I had to make some adjustments so it would also fit on a bumper sticker, but the message remains the same. Both of these designs are available on Cafepress and Zazzle (bumper sticker and shirt). Spreadshirt has the design intended for t-shirts, but I've also prepared a vector version of the angry robot with a blank sign, so you can customize his colors and his message!

I liked that angry little robot's design so much that I eventually decided that two dimensions just isn't enough. It was time I brought him into . . . The Third Dimension! (Cue spooky sci-fi music)

Yes, I created a 3D model and uploaded it to Shapeways! "But what happened to his sign?" I hear you ask.
Well, it's not just an empty frame. It is, in fact, a business card holder!
On the right you can see him holding a stack of my old business cards. I've also painted this one, but he doesn't come that way when you buy him. It's a pretty simple process, though. Shapeways' "White Strong And Flexible" material is very porous, so I spray painted him black first so the acrylic paints I used wouldn't spread.

I also based another model on the peaceful robot protester. He's supposed to be a pen holder, but I haven't ordered one for myself yet. If you have any other ideas for robot themed office supplies I'd be happy to hear your suggestions.
